After reading this book, I thought it was just lovely — so much so that I bought several copies as gifts for my nephews + niece, and as gifts for my friends’ children. As other reviewers have already stated, the writing is excellent, educational and fun at the same time. The illustrations are beautiful and exciting. Readers follow Amanda May through her colorful world, learning as they go. And of course, the book provides useful information for readers interested in adopting the perfect pup of their own! I can’t wait for “I like Cats!”

I Like Dogs
What a refreshingly different children’s book
Debra Cheehy delivers an import life lesson using classic characters and lovable dogs. While reading we learn adopting a dog is a commitment, why dogs are abandoned, and you should adopt and not buy. Most importantly we see all dogs have a purpose and deserve a home where they are treated with love and kindness the way God intended.
This book beautifully illustrated by Carol Hilliard is full of rich colors and whimsical antics. The people and dogs move gracefully from page to page as we follow along.
I LIKE DOGS touched my heart and the hearts of all I have shared it with. It is like a classic movie you return to again and again.
A wonderful gift for any child or adult who loves a dog.

BEAUTIFULLY illustrated, heartwarming and educational!
Once in awhile we come across a book where the illustrations are a true art form. Carol Hilliard’s use of line, movement, design and expressive style go way beyond just a skillfully illustrated book. Her artistic attention to detail will make anyone want to gaze at this book. I notice something new every time I look at it- soulfully done- BRAVO!!
This book opens your heart to the joys of adopting a shelter dog and teaches children about the responsibilities involved in the care of our animal companions. It should be read over and over to every child and enjoyed by every adult.
