First, some background: ferrets are the second creature on this earth to have hammocks built specially for them. Other animals can lay in human hammocks and possibly in a ferret hammock, but they don’t have their own made specially for them. As a ferret owner for years, trust me when I say I have experienced much frustration with ambitious, yet ultimately worthless ferret accessories. A couple weeks ago, that all took a turn for the different.
When I purchased this item, I had an ideal in mind–that my ferret would be as content and satisfied as the ferret in the item picture. If ferret satisfaction was what this company was aiming for, well, mission accomplished! I was so happy to show my ferret the joys of just laying out in a hammock and just spanning the time together in the sun. We have had several wonderful afternoons hanging out. I look up and the ferret turns its head and I can see in its eyes how much it loves lounging around…just like in the picture!
Overall, I can’t say there are too many things I don’t like about the ferret hammock. The only things I can complain about is how the hammock is blue, but my ferret is female, so there is a bit of cognitive dissonance there and it’s tiresome explaining to guests that the company just didn’t have pink and that no, my ferret is not a boy. But I can’t really take off a star for that. I do hope more people will buy this product so that the company is encouraged to release more colors though.
