My dogs chewed right through the straps that hold the hammock on the back rests of the vehicle. I was able to use the hammock for about one minute and then it no longer stayed up.

Best twelve dollars I’ve ever spent. It installs and removes in seconds. I find myself using it for much more than just my dog. Anytime I’m carrying anything dirty or sharp.

This product covers my seats and prevents dammage to my leather, but it doesn’t really keep my dog from getting to me in the front seat. Also, it doesn’t stay in place, but for the price I had paid it does the job!!

I bought this a few weeks ago for my 60lb dog. I’ve also had another 55lb dog in the bag seat with him and it’s taken the abuse from both of them jumping around and playing. I definitely didn’t notice the smell that others indicated.

    Pros:

Material seems very thick and durable.

    Brushes clean

    Strong and adjustable attachments

Quick release when you want to take this out

Incredible price (I was worried since it is so inexpensive, but this is better than the ones I’ve seen for 4-5x the price)

    Cons:

Doesn’t fit my back seat (Saturn SL2) perfectly. In other words, the hammock doesn’t remain taut and it seems this is designed for slightly larger back seats. But it doesn’t affect it’s effectiveness at all; it’s just aesthetics.

I ordered this product to use when I took my pups hiking up in NC. It’s good for keeping dirt and other stuff off your backseat; however, I was not pleased to find that it requires full headrests in the backseat as well. I did fully read the product description before purchase and it does say it attaches to your headrests…however, I think it should state directly that you need *rear* passenger seats with headrests, as I did not realize so many cars must have (other than mine!) Without the rear headrests, I had to engineer this to work. Further, the cover did not extend quite so far up on the backseat of my car (as shown in the picture on the box.) I only have small dogs, so it wasn’t much of a concern for me, but if I had a larger breed it might be an issue.

Otherwise, considering that it’s a requirement for cars to have the LATCH system, I don’t understand why more of these pet products, such as this one or doggie carseats, aren’t designed to be compatible with it!?! IMO it’d be easier to install and use!!
