We used to use baby gates to keep the dog in the family room and kitchen area. My wife hated them. Now the scat mats keep her where she is supposed to be and no more baby gates! Plus, our dog thinks that what she sees on the television is actually IN the television. When dogs or animals were on the TV, she would attack the TV. That was sort of OK when the old television had these big glass screens, but not with the new HD TV’s. Not to mention, her jumping up on the TV cabinet was scratching it. Again, wife a bit ticked at the dog. So we put another scat mat in front of the TV. One shock and she stopped. Oh, she still barks at the TV at times, but no more jumping up at the TV. Now the wife is happy. Highly recommended.

…to keep my stubborn Burmese cat off of my kitchen counters. I’ve had no problem teaching my other cats to stay off the counters, until this guy came along. This item did the trick…finally! I highly recommend it.

When we first received this did not work and had to send back for replacement. New one works great, keeps dog off couch. We had something that would make noise when dog got on couch but he would still jump up there and now we have scratches in our leather, we would always see little paw prints. This seems to be better and if dog does get up there, jumps on mat and not on couch. Definitely worth the money.

I bought the 48 X 20 mat and the extension pad to cover a large entranceway in my home.
Positives:
1. The dogs only needed to try it once or twice to be aware of what it does.
2. It does generally keep them out of the room.
3. A humane punitive corrector.
Negatives:
1. It fires CONSTANTLY for no reason and I can not find out why or how to stop it.
2. Must buy ac adapter since the battery will die in a day or two because of item # 1
3. While it fires constantly when no one is on it, it doesn’t always go off when the dogs are on it.
4. Sometimes they will take “the hit” to get across but not to leave the room.
*Point to keep in mind, a coated dog or cat that has hair between its pads is not going to get as strong of a correction if any. Kind of what you would feel on it if you were wearing socks.
All in all its good for a couch or an area of the home you dont want animals in, but you will need two times more mat than you think so that the animals cant get around it.

I was having problems that my wifes cats would jump on my car and leaving tracks all over my car, I menthioned to my wife that I am considering —-ing cats till get the right one, but after a short conversation with her, I quickly came to the conclusion that was not an option. So I purchased the scat mat and put it on my car and pluged it in, the next morning there was 2 tracks where a cat landed on the mat and 2 tracks where the cat left the mat, from that day forward I have not had to plug the mats in I just lay them on the car and I have no more problems. This product is worth every penny works awsome
