This book gets 5 stars on the content. The auther adresses things people just do not want to deal with such as loss, retirenment and the ups and downs of having a service dog. She shows the difference between the family pet and the partner bond of a service dog working with you 24/7. This book is a must have as it has many good resources for someone thinking about getting a service dog, the service dog owner and trainer. It is NOT a training book, it does discuss what a service dog is and what a service dog is not, it is a guide book of information and very well written.

I bought this book and already had a service dog in training, and it is still quite a useful book to me. However, being that alot of this book covers things that didn’t apply to me as I already had my dog, it would be highly recommended for someone who is considering one. Do not overlook this book though if you already have a dog as it is full of useful information and training.
